About Helen

I am a mum of three boys and a full-time, professional, people photographer. I am passionate about what I do and strive to create a fun experience for my clients as well as producing stunning, highly individual images every photo session. I also pride myself on a very high level of customer service and attention to detail, which is supported by the amazing team I have around me.

I opened a studio 8 years ago when my family and I were living in Holland. I quickly realised that studio-only images were not what I wanted to produce for my clients, many of whom were expats staying in Holland for just three or four years, and who wanted something more personal to them which reflected their time abroad. I began by doing a short studio shoot with my clients and then taking then to the local park or to the beach to produce some more natural, lifestyle images. That was it - I loved it, my clients loved it. So when the Rae family got the call back to the UK, I sold the studio lights and Helen Rae Photography as a natural light, lifestyle, location portrait business was born. Creating unique images at a location which has significance for my subjects is now what I love to do best (and my clients love it too!)

My work hangs on walls all over the world, Netherlands, Denmark, France, India, USA, Russia, Australia as well as Cheshire, Wiltshire, Yorkshire, London and the Home Counties.
